Playa Larga, Cuba - New Hosted Week

Playa Larga has, over the years, become one of our favorite destinations in Cuba. I was there in early June of this year with a great group, and many clients came to me afterwards to tell me how much they enjoyed all aspects of the trip. And, many of these same people had been to Cuba with me multiple times.

There are two unique aspects to the trip. First, we are able to fish two distinctly different fisheries. The first are the saltwater flats of Las Salinas. There, we use flats skiffs to access the flats, channels, mangrove-lined bays, and nearby ocean beaches to search for Bonefish, Tarpon Permit, Snook, Jacks, Cuda and Snapper. We also are able to fish the only guided jungle river in all of Cuba - The Rio Hatiguanico. The river holds Tarpon throughout the entire year, with early Summer being the best opportunity of finding larger fish entering the lower river.

The second unique aspect to this trip has to do with Cuban culture and life. Other destinations in Cuba have you staying aboard a live-aboard boat. And for some others, guests stay in beachside resorts. Both are great, but do not allow our clients access to very many Cubans, and isolate them from everyday life. In Playa Larga, we are hosted by local Cubans, get to know their staff and some of the locals, as well as view life in Cuba as it passes us by in this small village.

We quickly sold out our first week here for 2026. So, we scheduled a second week and still have some open spaces. We would love to have you along
